The police detained the head of the Communist Party faction in the Moscow City Duma Nikolai Zubrilin. It is reported by “Interfax”.
Together with Zubrilin, Pavel Ivanov, head of the protest department of the Moscow city party committee, was detained. Ivanov spent more than a week in the building of the city committee, where, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, “he tried to avoid administrative responsibility for calls to participate in unauthorized mass events.”
As explained in the party, Zubrilin and Ivanov, accompanied by the elected State Duma deputy Sergei Obukhov, left the city committee, after which they went to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow. At the entrance to the building of Ivanov and Zubrilin, “they surrounded 7-8 policemen and took them both to the Tverskoye police station”.
The police did not name the reason for the arrest.
After the elections, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation held two uncoordinated rallies in Moscow on Pushkinskaya Square, demanding to cancel the results of online voting. Because of them, not a single candidate from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation entered the Duma, although several people confidently led the way when summing up the results of the regular vote.
No one was detained at the rallies themselves, but after the rallies, the police began to come to their participants’ homes and draw up protocols for them.
