In 2022, the “Big Construction” will cover 715 facilities in 24 regions of Ukraine: these are roads, educational, medical and cultural institutions, sports facilities and airports.

This was announced in Kharkiv at a meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities chaired by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky , said the Deputy Head of the Office of the President, coordinator of the Great Construction program Kyrylo Tymoshenko.

“In 2022, we set ourselves even more ambitious plans. We are planning 715 Big Construction sites in 24 regions of Ukraine: these are 5.5 thousand kilometers of state roads, at least 1,400 km of local roads, 282 educational institutions, 68 medical institutions, 338 sports facilities, more than 6800 sports grounds in courtyards across the country, these are 141 schools, 133 kindergartens, 4 institutions of higher education and 4 small group houses,” he said.

Speaking about the modernization of educational institutions within the program of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “Big Construction”, Kyrylo Tymoshenko emphasized that in 2022 there would be a transition to a completely different class of projects.

“We are building only innovative educational institutions, because we understand that our children should study in educational institutions of a new class,” he stressed.

Separately, Kirill Timoshenko dwelled on the “Big Construction” of sports facilities. According to him, a kind of vertical of sports facilities has been created: from small sports grounds in courtyards to urban parks in 30 cities of Ukraine and the construction of sports arenas for EuroBasket 2025.

According to the Deputy Head of the Office of the President, by the end of March they plan to open the first airport in Kherson, reconstructed under the program of the President “Big Construction”, which was rebuilt in a record short time – 3 months. Another 7 airports are next in line in 2022: in Zhytomyr, Krivoy Rog, Rivne, Poltava, Chernivtsi, Vinnitsa and Dnipro.

“If we talk about medicine, then in 2022 we plan to reconstruct and repair 16 medical institutions and 2 sanitary and health complexes. The most important thing is the reconstruction of 25 regional adult and 25 regional children’s hospitals. This is a reconstruction, a complete thermal modernization of the facade and internal works, this is an additional equipment and additional buildings,” Tymoshenko said.
