I neither desire nor intend to promote this article by a
russian journalist for The New Yorker. However, I can’t overlook it due to The New Yorker’s influence and audience, and the timing.
The very first sentence sets the tone for the entire piece by referring to the Revolution of Dignity as a “legend”, suggesting something grand but not true. The paragraph provides a brief overview of the Revolution, omitting any reference to its brutal and bloody nature, with #protesters being arrested, kidnapped, beaten, and killed.
It is obvious, that this detail was intentionally removed to suppress the notion that it’s possible to stand against an autocratic government if there is collective will and courage of the people.
This very long read attempts to cover every item in russian propaganda pamphlet – low morale of the Ukrainian defenders, unnecessary marshal law, poor governance, not secure WiFi booster hanging on the tree, and even a sentiment toward the negative outcome of the #sovietunion dissolution.
The objective is clear: to project that Ukraine is destined to fail.
And what about russia, you might wonder… Wait for it… russia is being russia. There is no judgment, no remorse. It is totally fine what russia is doing to Ukraine and its people because russia is being russia.

The New Orc Times has promoted Russian lies and propaganda since the 1930’s.
Now the left-leaning New Yorker joins in.
Ukraine is under attack not only from the far right magaputler cult and their house mags Hateway Pundit and Breitbart, but now the supposedly moderate left New Yorker; famous for its “fact-finding” is pumping out shit for putler’s tankie friends.
Gessen is most propably not a Putin fan, but its (it claims to be “nonbinary”, but I don’t support that “they” pronoun nonsense) strong patriotic feelings towards Russia make it patently incapable of judging this war from a neutral point of view, it seems. Shame on the editors of the renomated New Yorker for publishing such onesided drivel!

“Russia’s attempt to capture the Ukrainian town of Avdiivka has reached a “critical” stage, Ukraine has warned.
The Kremlin’s forces launched a renewed push to capture the town in October, with troops on three sides pounding the settlement with relentless artillery strikes in a bid to force a Ukrainian withdrawal.
Russian soldiers have begun reaching the outskirts in recent days, amid signs Ukraine could be about to lose its first major town in about nine months.
Vitaliy Barabash, the head of the Avdiivka’s military administration, warned on Tuesday the situation in the town is now “critical in some areas”.
“This does not mean that everything is lost, that everything is very bad. But the enemy is directing very large amount of forces at our city,” said Mr Barabash.
Capturing the town would provide another boost for Russia, which remains on the front foot as the second anniversary of its invasion approaches.”
Tovarish Fucker Karlsonov is in Muscovy to celebrate with his venomous little nazi fuhrer what they both hope will be the capture of Avdiivka.
Once again the far right and far left collaborate with nazi RuZZia, but now the centre left New Yorker is joining in the pincer movement.
The New Yorker is infested by ruSSian jews eversince. BTW, why did wealthy jews during WWII not send their money to jews in Europe to help them escape the holocaust???
