On July 25, the UN Security Council met to discuss the Russian shelling and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. Acting Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky made a bold statement about the strikes on Ukrainian cities.

“We destroyed, are destroying and will continue to destroy the military infrastructure of the “Kyiv regime” as part of the demilitarization of this country, which is one of the goals of our “self”. We do not strike at civilian objects,” he said.
According to Polyansky, Russia is not at war with civilians, but with the “Kyiv regime.” He threatened that the more military supplies to Ukraine, the more strikes there will be.
“This is not our choice, we have long and consistently proposed resolving the “Ukrainian crisis” through diplomacy,” he noted.
The Russian said that the next UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine will be held on July 31.
