Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the Russian Communist Party (CPRF), stated that Russia will ultimately lose if the current political course and the war against Ukraine continue . His words were quoted by Russian media.
At a briefing following the Russian State Duma elections, Zyuganov called on Moscow to move toward a policy of “justice, friendship, and socialism.”
“If course doesn’t change and this grueling war continues, everyone will lose. Without a center-left turn, without a turn toward justice, friendship, and socialism, there’s no way to consolidate this victory,” he emphasized.
The Communist Party leader also criticized the Kremlin’s current economic policy, noting rising prices and Russia’s technological lag.
“We haven’t even made our own telephone in 20 years,” the Communist Party leader added.
According to Zyuganov, while the global economy is growing at 3-4% per year, Russia has been showing growth of around 1% for 15 years.
Furthermore, the Communist Party leader noted that during the years of the full-scale war against Ukraine, the number of Russian oligarchs has grown from 105 to 155. According to him, together, Russian oligarchs own assets worth $700 billion.
