The Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft was supposed to launch to the ISS from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft to the ISS from the Baikonur Cosmodrome has been cancelled. This was reported during a broadcast conducted by Roscosmos, Interfax reports .

It is noted that the launch was supposed to take place at 16:21 Moscow time on Thursday, March 21.

“Attention at the launch complex. The launch was automatically cancelled. Bring the units of the launch complex to their original state. Prepare for parking for 24 hours,” the announcer said during the broadcast.

The publication clarifies that the crew includes Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, representative of Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson.

“The flight of the manned spacecraft was supposed to follow an ultra-fast two-orbit rendezvous scheme and take approximately 3 hours 19 minutes. The docking of the Soyuz MS-25 with the Prichal hub module of the Russian segment of the ISS was planned for 19:40,” the message says.

According to Roscosmos, Novitsky and Vasilevskaya were supposed to spend 12 days on board the station and return to Earth on April 2 on the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft together with NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara, while Dyson would continue the flight until September and land on “Soyuz MS-25” with Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub.

“Dyson was supposed to go to the ISS under the agreement on cross-flights between the Russian Federation and the United States. This flight was planned to be the third on the Russian Soyuz MS spacecraft under the agreement on cross-flights to the ISS concluded by Roscosmos and NASA,” the media adds.
