Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was “guided by humanitarian considerations” in declaring a temporary “truce” with Ukraine. He said efforts to peacefully resolve the war were ongoing, Russian media reported .
Peskov commented on Putin’s decision to declare an “armistice” on the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Soviet-German war.
“This is a manifestation of the goodwill of the head of the Russian state,” the Kremlin press secretary said.
Peskov noted that Russia and the United States have managed to unblock bilateral relations. He called it an “achievement.” The Kremlin spokesman also said that attempts are being made to reach a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine during the dialogue.
Peskov did not reveal details of the peace process. According to him, it is impossible to publicly discuss all emerging peace plans.
“Once it enters the public sphere, it loses relevance in many ways,” he said.

I agree. Calling it the Soviet-German war ignores the huge efforts and sacrifices that Western countries made. And, without our aid to the SU, they would be speaking German.
