Most Russians support Putin and are willing to accept additional economic hardship.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated this to the Russian agency RBC, The Moscow Times reports .
“The vast majority of the population of our country is absolutely consolidated around President Putin… Those who support President Putin, are they ready for any additional burden under the current conditions? I have no doubt that they are ready,” Peskov said.
He added that in Russia such a load is “balanced”, while in other countries “much more radical crisis development packages” are applied, and there are “a huge number” of such countries.
“And this depends, again, on the different periods of development of a particular country. With us, everything is much more balanced, predictable and stable. Macroeconomic stability is fully ensured,” Peskov added.
As reported, in September, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin admitted that Russia’s federal budget expenditures are indeed increasing, including due to the occupation war in Ukraine, but this does not pose a major problem given the low level of national debt, hinting at the possibility of increasing borrowing to continue the war.
At the same time, Putin promised not to raise taxes again in the near future. However, the day before, the Russian Ministry of Finance submitted to the government for consideration a draft federal budget for 2026 and a package of accompanying bills, which provide for an increase in the value-added tax (VAT) rate from 20 to 22%. The Russian ministry directly indicated that the tax increase was necessary to finance the war.

I wonder if anyone in the world, other then idiots, believe this balderdash?
Peskov has nothing to endure with his 180m2 apartment in the center of Paris, to spend for holidays and making nice shopping, and wine and dine……………
“The vast majority of the population of our country is absolutely consolidated around President Putin… Those who support President Putin, are they ready for any additional burden under the current conditions? I have no doubt that they are ready,”
Have they been asked? Of course not. Complaining in mafia land leads to a quick transfer to Ukraine, or tortured in some prison hellhole.
Yeah, that is what I was thinking too. Typical of fascists to decide what is good or not good for someone else. We even see that in the comments here sometimes.
“Have they been asked?”
And if they *were* asked, would they dare say No?
