This was stated by aviation expert Valeriy Romanenko on Radio NV. According to him, if the Russians cannot strike the military, they are trying to retaliate against the civilian population.
“What surprised me about today’s strike? The fact that the Russians are hitting civilians is not news. What surprised me today was that densely populated areas were hit with “Shaheds” and missiles with a conventional warhead. For example, an area with low-rise residential buildings was hit with special cluster munitions, where eight individually guided munitions fly out of one missile. And they are precisely hitting one- and two-story residential buildings with precision. This no longer fits into Russian atrocities, that they are already optimizing the possibilities of hitting Ukrainian residential buildings. This is the height of savagery,” the expert said.
Romanenko also emphasized that the Russians understand that “this is their historic chance to inflict maximum damage on Ukraine, because they have a pro-Russian US president.”
“I am sure that Trump will not take any, so to speak, steps to help Ukraine, because it is not beneficial to Russia. You should not expect anything from Trump, he will not do anything for Ukraine,” he added.
