Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, who was remembered by the public for dancing with the Russian president , expectedly came out in support of Putin’s policy against the backdrop of his destabilizing actions on the border with Ukraine.

In a commentary to propagandists from RIA Novosti , Kneisl said that Putin was right in the Munich speech in 2007 when he asserted the unipolarity of the modern world.

“At the time, there was talk of a cold war that would start soon, before the start of the war in Georgia, so it was actually in an intermediate phase. Some things are perhaps better judged 15 years later, and I came to the conclusion that President Putin then was right in his words and in his warnings,” the former diplomat said.

She believes that after the Munich speech in 2007, the situation in the world became more aggravated, including allegedly due to the lack of activity on the part of Western states over the past 15 years.

Kneissl noted that she revised Putin’s speech and realized that it explains a lot: “I would say that in fact about everything that Putin spoke about then, one has to admit that, firstly, he, unfortunately, was right, secondly, unfortunately, since then it has become worse and more difficult,” Kneissl replied.

In 2018, Kneissl, who worked at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, was remembered for her dancing with Putin , whom she invited as a guest to her wedding.

After that, the career of the Austrian diplomat in Russia rapidly went up. At first, Kneissl limited herself to working with Kremlin propagandists from Russia Today , but soon she joined the board of directors of Rosneft .

As UNIAN reported, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has been nominated as a candidate for the board of directors of the Russian gas monopoly Gazprom. He heads the Nord Stream 2 shareholders’ committee and lobbies for Russia’s gas interests in Europe.
