The Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Rear Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa,  gave an interview to Radio Svoboda , in which he revealed plans for the development of the national navy.

The most important news: according to Rear Admiral Neizhpapa, the first serial division of the anti-ship complex “Neptune” will be on combat duty in mid-2022.

It follows from these words that the command of the Ukrainian Navy has another three months to develop serial vehicles after their completion: as previously reported, by the first quarter of 2022, all elements of the first serial division “Neptune” should be delivered.

“As for the ship’s composition, in accordance with the agreement signed between Ukraine and Turkey, in particular, on the construction of a corvette of the Ada type, the first hull has already been laid. I think that in the next two years we will see the first visual result of the ongoing work on the corvette in Turkey, ”said Oleksiy Neizhpapa.

We will remind, recently we reported that in Turkey began to form the corvette case for the Navy of Ukraine.

At the same time, Rear Admiral Neizhpapa stressed that according to long-term development plans, the main naval base of Ukraine will be located in Ochakovo.

“The main classes of Ukrainian ships will be located at the base in Ochakovo – there is not enough space for them in Odessa. Ochakiv will be the main base. Last year, the Ministry of Defense transferred land and hydraulic structures near Ochakovo in the interests of the Navy, ”the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy stressed.
