The European Union plans to impose a ban on the import of coal from Russia, as well as a ban on most Russian trucks and ships from entering the bloc.

The new package of EU sanctions is the bloc’s reaction to the atrocities of the Russian military in Bucha, which became apparent after the liberation of the city.

What sanctions against Russia were introduced in the European Union:

  • a ban on the import of coal, timber, chemicals and other products from Russia – by 9 billion euros per year;
  • a ban on the supply of semiconductors, computers, technologies for the gas industry, transport and other industries to Russia – by 10 billion euros per year;
  • closing borders for Russian trucks and ships (with the exception of the supply of energy products, food and medicine);
  • sanctions against VTB and three other banks already disconnected from SWIFT;
  • it is forbidden for Russian companies to participate in European public procurement and deprivation of Russian state institutions of financial support from the EU.

  1. Wow, a blockade! Well that’s certainly better than comments alone!

    There still needs to be more action taken though, go after China, stop them from helping Russia!
