The formation of legal documents necessary for its launch has been completed.

A group of states working within the Council of Europe to create a “special tribunal” to convict those responsible for the crimes of Russian aggression against Ukraine .

According to Le Monde , they have completed the formation of the legal documents necessary for its launch, said the Council’s Secretary General, Alain Berset.

“After two years of hard work, the texts are ready for consideration at the political level. I am grateful to all countries and experts who have made such significant efforts. The perpetrators must inevitably be held accountable, in particular for the crime of aggression against Ukraine, in order to strengthen international criminal law,” said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.

It is noted that the Council of Europe, the watchdog for democracy and fundamental rights on the continent, unites 46 countries since the expulsion of Russia following its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

This was reported by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets.
