As a result of the shelling, half of the houses in the capital were left without heat.
During the massive shelling on December 9, Russia targeted district boiler houses that provided heat to residents, Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko reported on her Telegram channel.

“This time, the enemy has deliberately attacked district boiler houses—it’s energy terrorism and an attempt to weaponize winter,” the head of government noted.
In turn, MP Oleksiy Kucherenko , First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Utilities, noted that, according to his information, “in many districts of Kyiv, utility workers have received orders to drain water from in-house systems.”
As Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported , as a result of the overnight shelling, nearly 6,000 apartment buildings in the capital were left without heat.
“City services are operating under a state of emergency. Unfortunately, weather conditions are forecast to be challenging in the coming days,” Klitschko wrote.
The timeframe for restoring heat supply to the capital has not yet been announced.
