It became known the name of the Russian major general, liquidated yesterday by the fighters of “Azov” in the Mariupol region.
As it turned out, the commander of the 150th motorized rifle division of the invaders’ army, Oleg Mityaev, became the next “two hundredth”.
The now decapitated 150th division is deployed in the Rostov region (the city of Novocherkassk). It was formed in 2016 “in the context of deteriorating international relations with neighboring states,” that is, with Ukraine, and was specially prepared for the current invasion.
The name of the division was clearly not chosen by chance. In May 1945, soldiers of the 150th Infantry Idritsa Division hoisted a red banner over the Reichstag. The newly formed 150th motorized rifle division in 2016 was given the name “Idritsko-Berlin”, which was an obvious claim.
Until recently, Mityaev was the deputy commander of the grouping of Russian troops in Syria.
Now parts of the 150th division, which once took Berlin, are unsuccessfully trying to capture Mariupol. The details of the liquidation of a high-ranking Russian general, the Azov regiment has not yet reported.
