Sources say that the attack was organized by the Main Intelligence Directorate jointly with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

A massive drone raid on three military airfields of the Russian Federation on the night of April 5 was organized by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine together with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Informed sources told UNIAN about this.
Our interlocutor claims that the attack was probably successful. According to Ukrainian intelligence sources, at least three Tu-95MS strategic bombers were seriously damaged at the Engels-2 airfield in the Saratov region. During the same attack on the airfield, seven Russian servicemen were killed, including, possibly, bomber pilots.
At the airport in the city of Yeisk (Krasnodar Territory), two Su-25s were completely burned out as a result of a drone attack, and at least four occupiers were eliminated.
An attack on the airfield in Kursk has also been confirmed, but its results have not yet been clarified.

If you have no airdefense like Ukraine, just kill the Russian pilots inside The Russia!
“No airdefence” is a bit of an exaggeration – Ukraine has a way better airdefence than effing Putinstan! Still, admittedly, it’s not strong enough yet to really safeguard the population. That’s why such dronestrikes are so important. Every bomber that’s destroyed on the ground can’t launch missiles anymore! ✌🤨🇺🇦
3 of those bombers will cost a cool $120 million to replace.
Very nice! I was wondering when the Ukrainians would attack those damned bombers.
