The CEC website encoded data on the voting results. Now it will be even more difficult to analyze them.

A new system of protection against automatic collection of data on voting results has been included on the CEC website. In the source code of the pages, the numbers are replaced by letters typed in a special font.

As a result, when copying, the data is displayed incorrectly, which prevents the processing of election statistics automatically and complicates the analysis of the voting results.

Sergei Shpilkin, a specialist in electoral statistics, drew attention to the coding of the election results on the CEC website. “I don’t know to what extent one must be afraid of our own citizens to do this,” he wrote.

In 2020, during the voting on amendments to the Constitution , a captcha appeared on the CEC website with the results of elections and referendums . It interferes with downloading data automatically.

  1. “In the source code of the pages, the numbers are replaced by letters typed in a special font.”

Sounds like the radar data they sent to the MH17 investigation.
