The construction of the bridge has reached over 80%: the crossing will facilitate trade, tourism and cross-border communication. This was announced by the Chairman of the Maramures County Council.

The construction of the bridge over the Tisza River in the Teplice district, which will connect the Ukrainian and Romanian parts of the border near Sighetu-Marmației, is nearing completion.

The installation of the bridge’s metal structure and prefabricated slabs has already been completed, and the access terraces on both sides are ready.

The bridge’s infrastructure is also practically complete, and the administrative buildings and control rooms have passed over 80% of the installation and decoration stages. Work on the electrical systems, security systems and outdoor lighting is being completed.

Currently, the builders are working on the final arrangement: interior decoration, asphalting, installation of containers and final connection of rails are being carried out.
The construction is expected to be completed in the near future, after which the new crossing will begin to play the role of an important European transport corridor on the border of Ukraine and Romania.

The bridge over the Tisza will become a new cross-border node, which will significantly facilitate communication between Ukraine and Romania.

It will open up new opportunities for the development of trade, tourism and cultural cooperation, as well as support local communities.
