In temporarily occupied Shakhtarsk in the Donetsk region, powerful explosions were heard on November 2 – the Armed Forces of Ukraine probably hit an oil depot . Local residents reported this on social networks. A bright glow is visible above the city, the fire has engulfed a large area.
According to the Exilenova+ Telegram channel, the strikes targeted an industrial zone where the Russians were storing fuel.
” An oil depot in the so-called Shakhtarsk, Donetsk region, has just been hit. Shakhtarsk, more video from the scene,” the report says. The channel published a series of videos from the scene of the hits, showing flames and a series of explosions.
Witnesses reported a series of consecutive explosions after the first strikes.
Fuel tanks were probably detonated. Heavy smoke and a column of flame were observed in the city, which was visible for several kilometers. Russian propaganda resources confirmed the fire, but traditionally stated about the “work of air defense.”
At the moment, there is no official confirmation from the Ukrainian military structures, but such strikes on the rear bases of the occupiers in the Donetsk region are carried out regularly. Earlier, it was reported about the destruction of fuel warehouses in Makiivka.
In recent weeks, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been actively destroying Russian military support facilities in the occupied territories. In particular, in October, strikes were recorded on oil depots in Luhansk and Zaporizhia regions, which significantly complicated the enemy’s logistics. Such operations are aimed at depriving the Russian army of resources for combat operations.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that the power went out in the Russian city of Oryol after a drone attack on the city. According to reports from the scene, the local CHP was hit.
It also became known that the State Oil and Gas Regulatory Commission recorded a reduction in oil product processing in Russia of up to 20% after the Ukrainian campaign of deep strikes.
