Moscow and Damascus signed a memorandum on the reorganization of the Russian presence in Syria.
This was reported by the Syrian state agency SANA , Censor.NET informs.
Transfer of civilian objects to Syrian control

The signing of the memorandum was preceded by about a year and a half of negotiations between the parties.
According to the memorandum, Russia will transfer to Syria the management of civilian facilities, including the Khmeimim airport and the fourth commercial terminal of the port of Tartus. They are to be gradually integrated into the country’s civilian infrastructure.
Reorganization of military facilities
The parties also agreed to review the role of facilities currently used for military purposes.
Thus, according to the agreements, Russian military bases and other military facilities should be repurposed into joint Russian-Syrian education and training centers that will operate for the benefit of both sides.
The preparation process, as stated in the memorandum, should be completed within three months.
A new stage in relationships
