Europe is actively discussing the intentions of newly elected US President Donald Trump to gain control over Greenland . French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot believes that the EU will not allow the Republican to invade the island, Politico reports .
“There can be no talk of the European Union allowing other countries to attack its sovereign borders, whoever they may be,” he said on French radio.
Barro stressed that he does not believe that Trump will actually invade Greenland.
“If you’re asking me if I think the United States will invade Greenland, my answer is no. But have we entered a period of time where the fittest survive? Then my answer is yes,” he said.
