Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the subway would become the main bomb shelter in Kyiv in the case of a Russian attack.
He announced this on the air of the Utro [Morning] TV program on the Current Time TV channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
“A clear plan has been developed in Kyiv, information has been given about the bomb shelters that are located near certain objects. The Kyiv Subway will also act as a key bomb shelter in Kyiv, which, God forbid, in the case of the Z-hour, will be ready to receive people who will be able to take cover in case of a possible attack,” he said.
Klitschko noted that there are sirens in the city, which, in case of an emergency, will notify of the threat.
He stressed that in this case, television and radio would be needed to provide residents with information.
Klitschko hopes that such means will not be needed and that a negative situation will be avoided.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksii Danilov sees no possibility for a full-scale Russian offensive against Ukraine.
The United State of America, United Kingdom, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, the Czech Republic have provided Ukraine with additional defense support due to the threat from Russia.

But Putin never interferes in other country’s affairs, so he says, and considers Ukrainians as brothers, why would he bomb Kyiv?
The Mail, which is a shitty paper but with a huge coverage, has a horrendously alarmist article running at the moment. I’ve no idea if the following quote from The Biden-Zel phone call is correct :
“Biden told Zelensky that an invasion is virtually certain and to ‘prepare for impact,’ CNN reported. He said Kiev could be ‘sacked’ by Russian forces.”
The word “sacked” is usually used to describe medieval savagery.
Let’s say it’s true; is Biden prepared to stand by doing nothing but sanctions?

I hope he won’t. Better safe than sorry. To trust Putin that he won’t attack is naïve. There’s lots of troops and naval activity near Rostov now. Could be a bluff, or could be worse.
Kyiv officials no doubt have their hands full right now. The city has more than enough problems on its own and now they have the added task of preparing it for a possible attack, which in itself is a huge job. Let’s hope that they still have enough time.
Looking at this whole mess, Ukrainians are the only ones not panicking about a Russian invasion. Maybe the West should declare a media blackout and stop giving Putler a fucking stage to prance around on.
Funny, we have no more tv here. I contacted friends, they have the same issue. At the moment we only receive radio waves.
