The US president “tempts” Canadians with the absence of an “artificial border.”

US President Donald Trump has urged Canadians to elect a politician who can ensure that the country becomes “the 51st American state,” in a statement he posted on Truth Social on the day of Canada’s snap parliamentary election.

The American leader wished Canadians “good luck” in electing a person who would cut taxes in half, increase military power and “companies with zero tariffs or taxes.”

“There will be no more artificial border that was drawn many years ago. Look how beautiful these spaces can be. Free access without borders. All positive, no negative. That’s how it should be,” Trump said.

He once again stated that the US will not “subsidize Canada by hundreds of millions of dollars” because they see no point in doing so unless the country becomes the 51st American state.

Deterioration of relations between Canada and the United States

As UNIAN reported, US President Donald Trump has imposed high tariffs on imports, which has drawn sharp criticism, in particular from Canada.

The country’s Foreign Ministry said Trump had shown disdain for major trading partners and had permanently damaged relations . According to Canada’s Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, her country’s relations with the United States will never be the same.

Later in Canada, Trump was called a “vicious, narcissistic slug.” New Democratic Party of Canada member Charlie Angus sharply criticized the American leader for his opposition to “equality and inclusion.” The politician emphasized that Canadians will always uphold the rule of law.
