Six foreign embassies in Kyiv were damaged by a Russian missile attack . As an UNIAN correspondent reports, Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgy Tykhyi said at a briefing. 

The spokesman noted that with today’s missile attack, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin “confirmed the honorary title bestowed upon him yesterday by the President of Ukraine .” 

At the same time, according to him, a number of foreign embassies were damaged in Kyiv today as a result of shelling.  

“All these embassies are located in one building, which suffered significant damage as a result of the Russian missile strike. These are the embassies of Albania, Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal, and Montenegro. The rooms have broken windows, doors, and fragments of ceilings,” Tykhy reported.

The spokesman said that the strikes on diplomatic institutions were an absolutely barbaric attack.

“Everywhere in the world, this is a crossing of all possible red lines and, in general, international rules – attacks on diplomatic missions. And Russia once again confirms its status as an absolute barbarian,” Tykhy said.

The spokesman added that, according to available information, none of the foreign diplomats were injured.

“The Ukrainian side is already assessing the level of damage and is actually dealing with the elimination of the consequences of this damage to diplomatic institutions,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman added.

Missile attack on Kyiv – what is known

As UNIAN reported, on the morning of December 20,  Russia attacked Kyiv with missiles.  As a result of the enemy attack, damage was recorded in several areas of the capital. The KMVA reported that as a result of this strike, debris was recorded falling in several areas of the city. There is one dead and 10 injured.

The Air Force reported that the strike on Kyiv was carried out by 5 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh and Bryansk regions, and the air defense shot down all the missiles.
