U.S. President Donald Trump has refuted media claims that his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, supposedly waited eight hours for a meeting with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
Trump posted the statement on Truth Social.
According to him, “The Fake News, as usual, is at it again!”
“Other meetings with other Representatives of Russia did take place and, obviously, they took some time, but they were very productive,” Trump said, adding that it sent “very good” signs.
“In conclusion, there was no nine hour wait, or any wait at all! The only reason they made up that story is to try and DEMEAN, because they are sick degenerates, that have to start reporting the News correctly,” the U.S. leader emphasized.
- On the night of March 13-14, it was reported that Steve Witkoff held talks in Moscow.
- On March 13, Alexander Lukashenko also visited Moscow and met with Vladimir Putin.
- On March 14, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that following Witkoff’s conversation with Putin, “there is a very good chance that this horrible, bloody war can finally come to an end.”
- Meanwhile, on the same day, SkyNews reported that during his visit to Moscow, Witkoff waited eight hours to meet with Putin, who was engaged in talks with Alexander Lukashenko.
Like his moscovian buddy, when Trump claims something to be fake, it is in fact true, especially when it’s a vehement as this denial.
