Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga criticized the statement of Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Security Council, Vasily Nebenzi, that Moscow is ready to “continue and escalate hostilities in Ukraine as long as necessary.”
Sibiga wrote about this on the social network X, Censor.NET reports .
“When the entire world insists that it is time to immediately stop the killings and begin meaningful diplomacy, Russia is using the highest diplomatic platforms to spew such bellicose rhetoric.
“This is a slap from Russia to everyone who stands for peace. Not only to Ukraine, but also to the United States, European countries, China, Brazil and others,” he stressed.
Sibiga noted that Ukraine demands responses to Russia’s bold statements that jeopardize the peace process.
“We insist that pressure on Moscow must be increased now. They do not understand normal attitudes or diplomatic language; it is time to speak to them in the language of sanctions and increased support for Ukraine,” he added.
Recall, the day before, the Russian Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, stated that a simple ceasefire is “not enough” for Russia to end the war against Ukraine.
