A scientist from Novosibirsk, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Dmitry Kolker died at the age of 54. This is reported by TASS with reference to a source in medical circles. Information about the death of the scientist was also confirmed by the source of Taiga.info.

Dmitry Kolker had the fourth stage of pancreatic cancer, he was being treated in a hospital in Novosibirsk. On June 30, the court arrested the scientist on suspicion of high treason, after which he was sent straight from the hospital to the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center in Moscow.

“The FSB killed my father,” Maxim Kolker, the scientist’s son, wrote on VKontakte, posting a death notice telegram. It says that Dmitry Kolker “was taken to City Clinical Hospital 29 on July 2, 2022, where he died at 2.40.”

“The fourth stage of pancreatic cancer is a sentence. But to meet this sentence not at home, but within the walls of a pre-trial detention center without proper medical care is the worst thing that can happen to a person, ”  the scientist’s daughter Alina Mironova wrote on social networks.

Dmitry Kolker is the head of the Laboratory of Quantum Optical Technologies at  the Institute of Laser Physics of  the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and  Novosibirsk State University , as well as a  professor at the  Department of Laser Systems at Novosibirsk State Technical University.
