NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will visit Washington on July 14 and on Tuesday, July 15, will meet with US President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, according to a NATO press release.

The reason for Rutte’s visit is not specified in the report, but Trump said in a recent interview with NBC News that the United States is ready to supply weapons to Ukraine through NATO and that he will make a “big statement on Russia” on Monday, Reuters writes .

The publication emphasizes that the Trump administration has so far only sent those types of weapons that were approved by former US President Joe Biden, known as a staunch supporter of Kyiv.

Other news about Donald Trump and Ukraine

UNIAN previously reported that Ukraine is anxiously awaiting Trump’s statement , which will be made very soon. “We have tried all possible options to convince Trump that Putin does not want peace and will continue bombing. I hope Trump finally understood this,” one of Bild’s Ukrainian sources said.

Former US Assistant Secretary of State David Cramer, in turn, explained how to understand that Trump has changed his attitude towards Putin. “If we see the resumption of regular weapons, it would mean a reversal in the course that Trump has followed until now,” he noted. However, that’s not all.

  1. I hope this doesn’t turn out to be a damp squib. Is it too much to hope that Trump will throw the book at Putler? Massive sanctions and long range weapons will soon send putler running for the hills.

    • It was interesting this week when a journalist asked Trump about sending weapons to Ukraine, he answered by saying there would be a major announcement on Monday. I think, if the answer was, no, he would have just said it.

      • No necessarily. Taco always talks bull crap and often pulls back from what he blathered just a day before.

  2. Well, i’m still a flip-flopper. I want to believe, but Trump’s idiotic tariffs on one hand and no instant political consequences on the other make me believe it may be all bullshit. But please prove me wrong!
