Russian occupation forces committed another war crime in Ukraine. The enemy shot six captured Ukrainian soldiers.

The press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported this . It is noted that Russian terrorists killed Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk direction.

According to operational data, on October 23, 2024, during the offensive on the city of Selidovo, the Russian military captured three Ukrainian fighters. After some time, the occupiers shot the unarmed prisoners of war.

During the assault on Ukrainian Armed Forces fortifications in the same Pokrovsk direction on November 1, representatives of the Russian Armed Forces killed three more prisoners of war with automatic weapons.

These actions are a violation of the Geneva Conventions and are classified as an international crime, the Prosecutor General’s Office emphasized.

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, pre-trial investigations have been initiated into war crimes that resulted in the death of prisoners of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Execution of captured soldiers by Russians

As UNIAN reported earlier, it became known that near the city of Selidovo (Donetsk region) Russian occupiers shot two captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to prosecutors, this happened on October 18.

Before that, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported that on October 6, four servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine were performing combat missions at positions in the area of ​​the city of Selydove. During the assault on the fortifications, Russian occupiers captured them, interrogated the wounded guardsmen, and then shot them.

There are already numerous known facts of Russians killing Ukrainian soldiers who were captured. The enemy often posts videos of murders and abuses online, trying to exert moral and psychological pressure on our defenders.
