Trump and his team will not be able to come to terms with a possible victory for Harris.

Former US President Donald Trump’s team is preparing a series of lawsuits to challenge the election results if Vice President Kamala Harris wins, The Times reported .

Trump and his allies have said there is no verification of ballots cast overseas or in the military, and election officials are using early voting to commit fraud, the publication notes. In addition, the Republican added that many mail-in ballots in swing states are not legitimate.

The Republican campaign has repeatedly portrayed long lines for mail-in ballots on demand in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, as a form of voter suppression, reporters said.

“They already started cheating in Lancaster, they cheated. We caught them at 2,600 votes,” Trump said at one of the rallies.

Both US presidential candidates have spent months preparing for post-election legal battles, the newspaper said, with their teams drafting potential lawsuits and responses to them as this election could be the closest in 25 years.

“The question is not whether they will file these lawsuits, but whether the court will give them any time,” David Becker, executive director of the Center for Election Innovation and Research, told reporters.

The publication shared that Democrats are on the defensive, taking several legal steps of their own. In Georgia, Harris supporters successfully challenged new rules from the Trump-aligned election commission that could give the body more power.

The point is that Georgia’s unusual voting laws make it ripe for claims of election fraud, the paper noted. It has no early voting, and instead relies on labor-intensive mail-in voting.

Election law expert and University of Pennsylvania Law School professor Carey Michael Morse told reporters:

“We should expect a surge in local litigation across the state immediately following the election, not because these lawsuits are worthy of attention, but because Pennsylvania law is rife with such opportunities.”
