Fires broke out at the landing sites.

On the evening of Tuesday, January 21, Russian occupation forces launched a massive attack on Nikolaev with Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

At 22:38, the Ukrainian Air Force Command reported on its Telegram channel that Russian drones were flying towards the city. Local residents reported that a series of explosions were heard in Nikolaev.

Later, the head of the Nikolaev regional military administration, Vitaly Kim, reported that the occupiers launched seven “Shahed” type attack drones into the city. As a result of the attack, apartment buildings were damaged and fires broke out in the city. There have been no reports of casualties so far.

Nikolaev Mayor Alexander Senkevich wrote on Telegram that utility workers have arrived at the “landing” sites:

“Unfortunately, there is damage throughout the city. We will begin to eliminate the consequences.”

It became known later that the fire in the apartment of one of the houses is still being extinguished, people are being evacuated. There is also destruction of a private house, from under its rubble an injured woman was pulled out.

“A reed fire. There is destruction and a fire at an infrastructure facility. Rescuers are also working,” the mayor added.
