Since the start of russia’s full-scale war, the occupiers have executed at least 61 Ukrainian prisoners of war, with four russians identified as suspects. One court verdict has already been delivered. This was announced by Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin during a national Ukrainian news TV marathon, as reported by NV.

He stated that all Ukrainian military personnel have been tortured in russian captivity. Specifically, russians keep prisoners in inhumane conditions, starve them, deny medical assistance, and beat them for speaking Ukrainian, among other abuses.

According to Kostin, currently, 2,200 Ukrainian servicemen are recognized as victims. More than 500 soldiers have testified about the use of physical violence during interrogations, including torture with electric shocks.

The Prosecutor General also mentioned that at least 25 facilities in 15 regions of russia have been identified where systematic abuse of Ukrainian soldiers takes place.

Since the beginning of the russian aggression, 450 criminal cases have been registered concerning the mistreatment of prisoners of war. Additionally, 27 cases are being investigated regarding the execution of 61 defenders, with four occupiers identified as suspects. Two cases have been sent to court, and there has already been one verdict.
