It was previously reported that Russian authorities plan to finally block the video service in September.

Russian YouTube users have begun complaining about the popular video hosting site being completely shut down. This was reported by The Moscow Times, citing the services downdetector.su, “Detector sboy” and “Sboy.rf”.

The problem is present both in the operation of the site and in the operation of the mobile application. Complaints come from residents of such large cities as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Saratov, Samara and Krasnodar. In addition, residents of occupied Crimea have encountered difficulties.

“I hate the Russian government. They’ve ruined everything they could. They’ve reached YouTube”, “How can I study? Bring back YouTube, you bastards!”, ordinary users write in the comments.

How Russia “Fights” YouTube

Earlier it became known that the Russian authorities warned the main telecom operators about their intention to slow down YouTube, which will make it possible to listen to audio or watch videos with a resolution of no higher than 240p. According to some reports, the authorities are betting that due to such inconveniences, Russians themselves will stop using the platform. It was also reported that they plan to finally block the popular video service as early as September 2024.

In addition, Russian authorities are preparing to block Google , as well as other popular systems. According to State Duma deputy Alexey Didenko, business representatives and scientists are advised to switch to other platforms.

  1. What are they complaining for?
No sacrifice is too great for the glory that is Putin’s Russia.
This is what they gave up their democracy and right to choose their leaders for.
