The Russian Defense Ministry claims that the invaders were able to stop the advance of the Defense Forces.

The Russian command is transferring militants from the private military company “Wagner” to the Kursk region (RF) to resist the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As Russian media indicate , the transfer of Wagner units was reported by “war correspondent” Yegor Guzenko. It is noted that he published a video with mercenaries, signing it with the words: “Did I say there would be good news? Well, here it is for you. Wagner PMC fighters are returning to Russia… I will tell you about further surprises soon.”
In the mentioned video, allegedly representatives of the PMC confirm that they are returning to the Russian Federation – to the Kursk region.
“We’ll be there soon. It’ll be hot, but we’ll have fire extinguishers,” said one of the militants.
At the same time, as Baza writes with reference to other Russian “war correspondents”, now the part of Sudzha where the shooting battles are taking place is under the control of Ukraine.
“Ukrainian formations have occupied the western half of Sudzha. Now the line of combat contact runs along the dam area – it is a lowland through which a fairly small river Sudzha flows,” said “war correspondent” Mikhail Zinchenko.
According to Zinchenko, this area is also defended by “local militia” units along with Russian military personnel.
According to his colleague Yuriy Kotenkov, most of Sudzha is under the control of the Ukrainian military, and tanks are present on the territory of this settlement.
Russian blogger Yuriy Podolyaka reports that Sudzha is “full of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.”
“Sudzha is completely lost for us. And it is a vital logistics hub. And the enemy is trying to play this advantage. From Sudzha, among other things, there is a road to the north, to Lgov, along which he is also trying to advance,” the blogger writes.
According to some reports, the occupiers managed to stop the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the workers’ settlement of Korenevo; intense fighting is taking place along the Loknya-Nikolsky-Viktorovka-Kruglen’koye line.
“At night and in the morning in the Kursk region, air defense forces shot down 6 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones and 5 missiles. Since August 7, a state of emergency has been in effect in the Kursk region,” Russian media claim.
According to the resource “Before everyone. Well, almost”, the Russian Defense Ministry claims that units of the “North” group of troops, together with the FSB agencies, “continue to destroy” units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Sudzhensky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region, directly adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border.
The invaders deployed reserves, missile forces, aviation, and artillery, which, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, stopped the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Fire strikes are being carried out on identified concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and equipment. Attempts by individual units to break through deep into the territory in the Kursk direction are being stopped. Air strikes are being carried out on advancing Ukrainian Armed Forces reserves in the Sumy region,” the statement said.
The ministry claims that in one day the Ukrainian side lost up to 400 servicemen and 32 units of armored vehicles – a tank, four armored personnel carriers, three infantry fighting vehicles and 24 Kozak armored combat vehicles.
“In total, since the beginning of military operations in the Kursk direction, the enemy’s losses amounted to 660 servicemen and 82 units of armored vehicles, including eight tanks, 12 armored personnel carriers, six infantry fighting vehicles, 55 armored combat vehicles and an engineering obstacle clearing vehicle,” the Kremlin claims.

Didn’t Shoigu say yesterday that Ukraine had retreated back across the border? It appears he was telling lies as usual, and I doubt the Wagner scum will worry the Ukrainians much, they won’t have any cannon fodder to use this time.
