Chairman of the Sumy OVA  Dmitry Zhivitsky informed about the active withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the region.

He announced this in an evening video message.

“We have good news from the Sumy region. Since yesterday, Russian troops have actively begun to enter their territory from our region. In recent days, we have observed the accumulation of Russian troops from Belopolye to Konotop itself. … New columns entered, they dug in, engaged in terror on territories of the region, in communities, they fired at civilians, fired at forests, at houses, on the streets from tanks, grenade launchers,” Zhivitsky said.

According to him, today it is still too early to talk about the liberation of the region, since the cleansing continues, but the enemy’s equipment has left the territory.

“Our artillery was catching up. They were dragging wrecked tanks, wrecked equipment, just the entire accumulation of troops was due to the fact that they covered their” shortcomings, “he added.

Recall, on April 2, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in Slobozhanshchina, the invaders blocked the exit from the city of Buryn, where a large accumulation of enemy military equipment is recorded. The blockade of Putivl continued, the city was surrounded by enemy checkpoints. In the village of Yuryevo, Sumy region, the occupiers carried out raids in order to census the population and search for weapons.

Dmitry Zhivitsky then said that  a large number of enemy troops had entered the Konotop region of the Sumy region from the territory of the Russian Federation and a conditional “corridor” had been formed through which there was a constant movement of military equipment from the Kiev and Chernihiv regions in the opposite direction – to Russia.
