Russian military adviser with the rank of major general was killed in Syria. Interfax reports this with reference to the Ministry of Defense.

Three more Russian soldiers were injured in an explosion 15 kilometers from Deir ez-Zor (a city and province in northeastern Syria).

An improvised explosive device went off, it was planted on the side of the road in the direction of the Russian convoy, the Ministry of Defense claims.
