Russian gas exports to foreign countries have fallen by 36% since the beginning of the year

Russia’s Gazprom’s gas exports to foreign countries since the beginning of 2022 amounted to 17.9 billion cubic meters, which is 35.5% (9.8 billion cubic meters) less than in the same period of 2021.

Deliveries to some countries increased – to Turkey by 2.7%, to Bulgaria by 24.2%, to Bosnia and Herzegovina by 13.9%. 

Gas exports to China through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline under a bilateral long-term contract between Gazprom and CNPC are growing. On February 14, a new record of daily supply was set.

According to Gas Infrastructure Europe, as of February 14, the volume of active gas in European underground storage facilities was 22.3% (9.2 billion cubic meters) lower than last year. 93.4% of the volume of gas pumped in the summer has already been selected, ie less than 7% remains. The volume of active gas in European storage facilities on February 14 is only 32 billion cubic meters, which is 1.3 billion cubic meters below the historical minimum values ​​to date, according to NGV .

Gas extraction from European underground storage facilities usually lasts until the end of March-mid-April.

Gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities fell to 10.7 billion cubic meters, which is 45.7% (8.9 billion cubic meters) lower than last year and 4.6 billion cubic meters less than at the beginning of the pumping in April 2021.

As reported, March natural gas futures prices in Europe after jumping to more than $ 1,000 / thousand. cubic meters on February 16 fell to $ 800 per thousand cubic meters.
