A Russian floating crane has sunk in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea . The Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported this   and published a corresponding video.

The incident reportedly occurred off the coast of Yalta. Footage shows a crane’s boom falling under the impact of waves and gusts of wind.

“Why this vessel was not brought into port before the storm began is unclear. Don’t they read the weather forecast? The storm warning was announced a few days before,” the caption to the video says.

As UNIAN reported, on December 15, it became known that  two Russian tankers  – Volgoneft 212 and Volgoneft-239 – were sinking near the Kerch Strait. According to Russian media, the vessels broke in half. According to Astra, the tankers were transporting petroleum products, including fuel oil. As a result of the accident, it began to leak into the sea.

The first to sink was “Volgoneft 212”, with 13-14 crew members on board. The weight of the fuel oil being transported was 4,300 tons. Later, “Volgoneft-239” sank in the same area.

Later, the head of the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies, Andriy Klymenko, explained why two Russian tankers sank near the Kerch Strait. According to him, both vessels are very old and have a “river” class, which implies certain limitations.
