Russia considers it necessary to leave its troops near the border of Ukraine, as it can no longer put up with a NATO “invasion” of the country.

This statement was made by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov in an interview with the American television channel CNN, ria.ru reports .

“We are seeing a gradual NATO invasion of Ukraine with its infrastructure, its instructors, stocks of defensive and offensive weapons, training of the Ukrainian military and the like,” he said. “And this was the main reason why President Putin said:“ Guys, for us, this is a real threat.” And this is a real threat to stability and security in Europe and the European security architecture.”

According to Peskov, this development of events has brought relations between Moscow and the Alliance to the “red line”, and Russia “can not tolerate it anymore.”

He added that the Russian Federation does not threaten anyone with a military operation, but “will be forced to take countermeasures” in the event of further NATO expansion.
