The prosecutor’s office asks the court to choose a measure of restraint for Petro Poroshenko in the form of arrest for a period of two months.
This was stated by one of the prosecutors during a meeting of the Pechersk District Court of Kiev.
As an alternative to arrest, prosecutors are asking the court to set a bail for Poroshenko in the amount of one billion hryvnias. They justify this amount of bail by the size of the damage caused, the property status of the politician and the nature of the criminal case.
Law enforcement officers are also asking to oblige the fifth president to wear an electronic bracelet and hand over his passports.

Suspicion Poroshenko of treason
At the end of 2021, it became known that Petro Poroshenko had been mailed a suspicion of high treason . Poroshenko himself is now abroad.
The fifth president recorded a video message in which he stated that he would return to Ukraine in January. In the video, Poroshenko said that he is now in Warsaw, where meetings with Polish and European politicians are scheduled, and intends to return to Ukraine “according to his own schedule.”
Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation said that Poroshenko ignored the investigators who tried to give him a summons in the case of a criminal scheme for supplying coal from the temporarily occupied territories and assisting terrorist organizations “LPR” and “DPR” by a group of Ukrainian citizens.
On January 6, the Pechersky District Court of Kiev seized Poroshenko’s property and assets . The property on which the court decided to seize includes apartments in Vinnitsa and Kiev, an estate in Kozin, land plots, as well as shares of private companies.

Sounds like a good way for Ukraine to get some justice from the corrupt bastard. I’d read about the Euromaidan protests and the riots. I’m surprised he’s still alive, if I were there, I’d want him seized, and put in prison so they could investigate him. But after getting the information from him, I’d want to see him hanged for high treason.
Thank God we have not devolved to the point where we arrest and then do the investigation like the Putinazis do. I haven’t seen any credible evidence against Poroshenko yet but what I have seen is a paranoid Zelensky creating a political theatre and trying to eliminate the competition.
What worries me, is he doing this for his own personal gain, or for Russia.
Maybe you could give us some links so that we can see what you are talking about. As far as I’m aware, Zelensky has a very weak case against Poroshenko, at best. If you have more, let’s see it.
Zelensky overestimates his popularity. It was not him stopping the invaders, but it was him handing the Wagners to Putin, allowing criminal Kolomoisky back into the country, and increasing corruption like never before.
