The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will advise non-essential personnel of the diplomatic mission in Ukraine to leave the country for some time.

This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, informs RBC .

Lavrov noted that “Russia does not want to threaten anyone, they threaten it.”

The corresponding statement was made by Lavrov after talks with British Foreign Minister Liz Truss on the situation around Ukraine. He noted that this meeting “did not lead to significant changes.”

According to Lavrov, Russia does not exclude the partial evacuation of diplomats from Ukraine in connection with similar actions by the United States and Great Britain.

“We have already thought for ourselves, perhaps it is the Anglo-Saxons who are preparing something if they evacuate their employees (from Ukraine – UNIAN). We also looked at their actions, and, apparently, we will also advise non-essential personnel of our diplomatic institutions to go home for a while,” Lavrov said.

On January 5,  Canada also announced its intention to  temporarily remove family members of diplomatic employees from Ukraine, including children under 18 and family members who accompany them. On January 30, Canada temporarily withdrew non-essential personnel from its embassy in Ukraine.

It should be noted that there are 129 embassies and consular offices of foreign states, as well as representative offices of international organizations in Ukraine.

At the end of January of this year, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov argued that  Russian troops near the borders of Ukraine are not enough for a full-scale invasion .

  1. I’m having a very bad feeling. I hope Ukraine’s neighbors will not close their borders. Anyway, it was a great time with Ukraine. Sadly the West failed to arm Ukraine while Petro was president spoiling his re-election. Biden’s second fuck up in the making.
