The GUR revealed new details about the Russian Federation’s situation in Syria.
Bashar al-Assad’s flight from Damascus was accompanied by news that the Il-76T plane carrying the Russian dictator had disappeared from radar monitoring . The Internet speculated that this could have been caused by a shoot-down or a plane crash.

At the same time, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine emphasized that the Russian Federation used such disinformation to cover up its operation to rescue Assad and a limited circle of people close to him.
“The loss of Assad’s plane’s signal from radar is likely related to the actions of the crew, which was following the instructions of the Russians and flying under their guidance,” Ukrainian intelligence believes.
The GUR also added that the situation with the Russian contingent in Syria is consistently difficult, as the remnants of the Russian group continue to quickly pack up and flee by sea and sky.
“The “bigwigs” of the Russian army were the first to flee. In particular, following the failed General Sergei Kisel, the newly appointed commander of the Russian military group in Syria, General Alexander Chaiko, left the territory of the Middle Eastern country – he commanded for a week. To remove the remnants of their weapons, equipment, and personnel, the Russians attracted additional ships, in particular from the Baltic fleet of the aggressor state,” the report added.
