Amid the escalation in the Middle East, Russia has transferred Iskander missile systems and Murmansk-BN electronic warfare systems to its Iranian allies.

According to the Israeli news service Channel 14 , the weapons were transferred using an Il-76 military transport aircraft, which has made multiple flights from Russia to Iran.

Defense Express writes that Iran has not previously been observed to have these weapons. There have also been no public discussions regarding their transfer. This probably indicates that Iranian specialists are unlikely to have been trained on these systems, and therefore they may be accompanied by Russian personnel.

It is noted that the Murmansk-BN systems are designed to suppress satellite navigation and communications at a distance of up to 5,000 km. At the same time, the Iskanders will allow Iran to strike at a distance of up to 500 kilometers, although to reach Israel, it needs ammunition with a radius of about 1,200 kilometers. This fact increases the likelihood that the Iranians could also receive R-500 cruise missiles with a range of 1,500 km.
