Russia is requesting the UN hold a secret ballot for an upcoming vote on condemning its claimed annexation of occupied Ukrainian territories, the Reuters news agency reported on Oct. 5.
The vote concerns a UN General Assembly resolution that condemns Russia’s sham referendums and its “attempted illegal annexation” of Ukrainian territories.
“This is a clearly politicized and provocative development aimed at deepening the divide in the General Assembly and bring its membership further apart,” Russia’s UN. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia wrote in a letter to the UN.
He insisted that a secret ballot was imperative because Western lobbying may cause “difficulties” if positions are expressed publicly.
Diplomats said the General Assembly would likely have to vote publicly on whether to hold a secret ballot.
On Sept. 27, Russian occupiers announced the “results” of sham referendums staged in the occupied territories of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts. The results, which had been prepared beforehand, showed invented figures of nearly or over 90% “support” for annexation. These figures are false.
On Sept. 30, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ordered the Donbas puppet authorities, as well as collaborators in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, to sign papers agreeing to this claimed annexation.
On Oct. 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy implemented a National Security and Defense Council decision that renders negotiations with Putin impossible, though he stated that Ukraine is ready to negotiate with Putin’s successor. The Ukrainian president also officially recognized Putin’s decrees on the annexation of Ukrainian territories as null and void.

Translated means, if we have a public vote, the whole world will see what miniscule support our terrorist state has.
Now there needs to be a public GA vote to remove Putin’s veto on the UNSC along with another public vote to give Ukraine, Russia’s seat on the council.
The UN, like its predecessor the League of Nations, is a big, steaming pile of shit, filled with maggots from criminal regimes.
It has never achieved a damn thing.
All democratic countries should stop funding this pointless shitshow and pass the money directly to Ukraine.
The UN building is a valuable piece of real estate. The US should hand it over to Ukraine to do whatever they want with it.
