On the night of Thursday, August 28, russian troops launched 598 strike UAVs and 31 missiles at the territory of Ukraine, and air defense forces managed to neutralize a total of 589 enemy targets.

The press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that on the night of August 28 (from 7:30 p.m. on August 27), the enemy launched a massive strike on the territory of Ukraine using strike UAVs, air- and ground-based missiles, in total – 629 air attack means:

– 598 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and simulator drones of various types from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – russian federation, Hvardiiske – Crimea;

2 Kinzhal Kh-47M2 aeroballistic missiles from the airspace of Lipetsk and Voronezh Oblasts – russian federation;

– 9 Iskander-M / KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Bryansk and Voronezh Oblasts – russian federation;

– 20 Kh-101 cruise missiles from the airspace of Saratov Oblast – russian federation.

“According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m., air defense systems shot down/suppressed 589 air targets:

– 563 enemy Shahed UAVs and various types of simulator drones;

– 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile;

– 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;

– 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles,” the report says.

Missile and strike UAV hits were recorded at 13 locations, and downed UAVs (fragments) fell at 26 locations.

As the Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of August 27, russian troops launched 95 drones over the territory of Ukraine, and air defense forces managed to neutralize 74 of them.

Meanwhile, on the night of August 28, russian invaders targeted civilian passenger rolling stock. In particular, the Intercity+ high-speed train fleet was under attack.
