The Polish Prime Minister said that Moscow is showing increasing signs of preparing for a new escalation, and that autumn and winter could be crucial for the security of the entire region.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Russia is seriously preparing for a possible escalation of the situation not only in the war against Ukraine, but also in the entire region.

According to him, autumn and winter may be especially important, and the next seven to eight months may be critical for the security of Ukraine, Poland, and other European countries. Tusk stated this on August 28 during a meeting with participants of the “Campus Poland of the Future” in Olsztyn,  Ukrinform  and  European Truth report .

The Polish Prime Minister was asked, in particular, about the recent visit of the Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency, John Ratcliffe, to Moscow. Tusk assured that Poland maintains constant contact with the leadership of American intelligence, so information about Ratcliffe’s activities did not come as a surprise to Warsaw.

“We are in constant contact with the CIA leadership, so we are not surprised by any information regarding the actions and measures taken by the head of the CIA,” the Polish Prime Minister said.

At the same time, Tusk stressed that certain information in the security sector should remain confidential. However, in his opinion, this should not prevent society from knowing about the most serious threats.

“It is known that Russia is preparing very seriously for an escalation of tensions – both in the war with Ukraine and in the entire region, and that this autumn and winter should be key for Russia,” Tusk said.
