Frederiksen noted that since 2022, Russia has become increasingly aggressive.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen believes that Russia is preparing for a new wave of aggression against Europe, she said in an interview with the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza .

Journalists asked Frederiksen whether Russia could spread its war against Ukraine to other states. She replied that such a scenario cannot be ruled out.
“I cannot predict how and where the situation will escalate. I also cannot predict what we will have to face. But I am sure that we have faced a new wave of aggression from Russia,” the Danish Prime Minister said.
Frederiksen added that the war against Ukraine unleashed by Russia does not only concern Ukraine.
“Unfortunately, the war there continues, and Ukraine is paying a terrible price, thousands of its citizens are dying. But this war was directed against Russia from the very beginning. Russia, which dreams of restoring its empire, which claims its right to make decisions about Europe, although in reality it has no right to do so. There can be only one conclusion, and it has not changed since the beginning of this war: we must support Ukraine with all the means at our disposal, at any cost,” she emphasized.
Frederiksen noted that Russia has become increasingly aggressive since 2022. According to her, Moscow is waging a hybrid war on European territory.
“I think Russia is preparing for an attack. We don’t know what it will be. Maybe it’s an operation under a foreign flag? Maybe some new form of hybrid warfare? It’s happening everywhere, the Russians are constantly crossing borders. They are held back by the losses they are suffering in Ukraine. They are stuck, the war is consuming most of their military resources. Including their people,” the Danish Prime Minister added.
Is Europe ready for a Russian attack?
Frederiksen also assured that Europe is now much better prepared for a possible Russian attack than it was a few years ago. However, she said that many European countries still do not take the threat seriously enough.Read also:
“We understand better, especially in Western Europe, what is at stake. But are we ready? I don’t think so. We still behave as if we are living in peacetime. However, although we are not at war with anyone, peacetime in Europe is no longer an option. And our way of thinking has not yet adapted to this. We behave as if we have more than enough time,” she concluded.
