Russia is preparing for a situation where Ukrainian long-range drones will be able to reach objects at a distance of up to 2.5 thousand kilometers deep in Russian territory. This statement was made by the head of the electronic warfare service of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Bogdanov.
“Now unmanned aerial vehicles make it possible to cover distances of up to 2.5 thousand km, and many [Russian] regions know about this,” he said at the Integrated Security international salon.
As the Ukrainian military-analytical portal Defense Express notes , such statements are a sign that the aggressor state is probably preparing for such long-range strikes from Ukraine: identifying potential targets and preparing cover for them.
Analysts note that the Russians really have something to worry about, because experience has already shown the inability of the Russian army to protect its strategic targets even at a shorter distance from the border with Ukraine. There are simply not enough air defense systems for this.
However, Defense Express notes that Ukrainian officials have not yet reported that the Defense Forces have such drones that could hit targets at a distance of 2,500 km.
“It is quite obvious that we will already know about them after such attacks,” experts suggest.
