The Russian government has published a list of countries whose policies “impose neoliberal attitudes that contradict traditional Russian values.” The list was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
The list includes 47 countries. Among them are almost all the countries of the European Union (except Hungary and Slovakia), as well as the USA, Great Britain, Japan, and Ukraine. The list also includes Taiwan, whose independence the Russian Federation does not officially recognize.
Citizens of countries included in the list will be able to obtain a residence permit in the Russian Federation if they have suffered from the “imposition of neoliberal destructive attitudes” by the governments of their countries.
Since 2021, the Russian authorities have been maintaining an official list of “unfriendly countries.” It currently includes almost 50 states.
