On the night of September 22, Russian forces launched at least five ballistic missiles at an oil and gas complex in Poltava region . The facility had been out of service for a long time due to previous Russian attacks.

According to the company, Russian missiles hit technological facilities whose equipment had already been disabled as a result of previous strikes.

“This facility has been subjected to Russian attacks dozens of times since 2022, both with drones and missiles, and its equipment has long been out of order,” the report says.

The company emphasized that the current destruction actually makes further restoration and operation of the facility impossible.

What preceded it?

During the night of September 22, Russian invaders attacked the Poltava region in waves . Explosions were heard in two districts of the region.

Head of the OVA Vitaliy Dyakivnych reported that an industrial enterprise and a critical infrastructure facility were attacked in the Kremenchuk district. In the Poltava district, an enemy UAV fell on the territory of a private agricultural enterprise.

Attacks on Naftogaz facilities

Russian troops regularly attacked Naftogaz Group facilities in various regions of Ukraine throughout 2026. Gas production facilities, production infrastructure, gas stations, and other energy facilities were targeted.

In particular, in May, facilities in Poltava and Kharkiv regions were subjected to massive attacks, in March – assets in Poltava and Sumy regions, and in June-July, the Russians again attacked oil and gas facilities in Poltava and Kharkiv regions.
